Profile
of Dr. Mark Roberts
Dr. Roberts is
the Medical Director of the Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Center at
Miller Children’s Hospital. He was born and raised in Kansas City,
Missouri. Immediately after graduating from high school he attended a
six-year medical school.
He remained in
Kansas City for his pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital. He
then moved to Memphis, Tennessee for his fellowship in pediatric
hematology/oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While at St.
Jude’s, he developed a special interest in childhood leukemias and was there
for a total of nine years. From there he joined the MD Anderson Cancer
Center Pediatric Program and continued his care of children with cancer and
blood diseases while conducting research in how children with Acute
Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) respond to treatment for six years.
Two years ago,
we had the pleasure of having Dr. Roberts join our JJCCC team as Medical
Director. I would like to share with you some of the characteristics that
describe Dr. Roberts as nurses, staff, and colleagues would agree.
